This regulated qualification provides theoretical and practical training in emergency first aid techniques u that are specific to infants aged under 1 year, and children aged from 1 year to the onset of puberty. Learners undertaking this qualification will be able to provide support to the paediatric first aider to maintain the welfare of infants and children.
Topics within this qualification meet the requirements for paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 as being important to maintaining safe and effective practice when providing treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of trained personnel in England.
Upon successful completion of the practical and short answer question paper, each learner will receive an Ofqual approved, HABC certified, nationally recognised Emergency Paediatric First Aid certificate – valid for 3 years.
